Happy 87th Birthday

Missing you on your special day and wishing you were here with us. It seems like just a moment ago we were gathered around the table singing Happy Birthday to you, celebrating 86 years. You were such a special person in our lives and nothing has been the same since you have gone. I love you more than you will ever know and think of you every single day. There is nothing I wouldn't do to have one last phone call from you. I wouldn't rush off the phone to get my other "jobs" done. I would just sit and listen and chat and savour every moment I had to share with you. I miss you more and more every day. But, I hope you are in heaven gathered with family and friends and having a blast. I love you Grandma, today, tomorrow and forever!

Emily's 1st Birthday
She had so much fun - we had so much fun watching her. For weeks we practiced asking her how old she was and she would hold up one finger and blow it out like a candle. Of course she clapped every time we sang 'Happy Birthday'. She's full of hugs and kisses for everyone and can't wait to possibly see some of you in April/May.
I'll put a link on the Dashboard in the READING LIST called "Memoirs of OUr Munchkin"(it will bring you to our Blogspot) so you can see some pictures from her big day.
All is well here. Deryck is just trying to wrap up some reports before we head out the the coast. I'm still busy taking care of Emily's little friend Declan 3 days a week. Caught them smooching in the kitchen the other day! LOL!!
Hope everyone is well. Chat soon. VAL

Just us....
Hello everyone, hope you are all keeping well. Thought I would just write a simple post to let you know what we've been up to for the past month or so. Well, Addy turned the big 5 on January 7th. She was over the top excited to be another year older. We celebrated her birthday with friends at the Laserdome. She was too young to do the actual lasertag, but they have a big jungle gym there as well and something called LightSpace which is like big computer that is situated on the floor (like a huge floor mat) and they can play games on it. Needless to say it was a big hit with the kids. And now that Addy is 5, Presley too would like to be 5. We keep telling her that she is going to be 3 soon, but she is very adamant that she is going to be 5. She is more like 2 going on 17. It is quite funny and scary all at the same time.
Jason is doing well. His business is still going strong. It has slowed down but he is still working full days which is always nice. We took a drive to Northlands Golf Course here in North Van last weekend and I think I may have seen a tear in his eye as he saw how much snow was still on the ground. He left saying it's still going to be a while before golfing in 2009 becomes a reality.
I am keeping myself busy. Well, actually the girls are keeping me busy. I am constantly driving them to and from there activities and such all week. I really look forward to weekends when it is much slower around here. On Monday a friend of mine and myself are going to head up to Mt. Seymour to go skiing. It is ladies night on the mountain and us girls can ski for free from 4-10pm. Of course I need rentals but those are quite cheap. So I am quite excited but very nervous as I haven't skied since I was 17. Let's hope I DON'T break a leg.
Well that seems to be our life in a nut shell. Hope you all are keeping well. Can't wait until we have another family reunion *wink* wink* nudge* nudge*.
Chat soon,
